About the Repro-Eco Tox Lab

Primary Goal: Improve developmental and reproductive health outcomes by informing the public and regulatory agencies about the hazards of chemical pollution.

General Approach: Combine laboratory and field studies to identify molecular, cellular, and physiological changes associated with chemical exposures under controlled and environmentally relevant conditions.

Mission

Our mission is to identify the mechanisms by which chemical contaminants can impact health at the cell, tissue, organismal, and population level. We will prioritize environmentally relevant and translation study designs to conduct high impact science with relevance to human, animal, and ecosystem health. As a group we will develop and participate in public outreach and educational programs to improve awareness of chemical hazards and discuss protective measures with impacted communities.

Vision

The field of Toxicology is interdisciplinary by nature and collaborating is essential for successful experiments and professional development. Trainees from diverse scientific backgrounds will be able to draw and build upon their experience in molecular, environmental and eco-toxicology, endocrinology, reproductive biology, bioinformatics, and chemistry to develop and execute independent projects. Emphasis will be placed on comparative research, drawing on experimental and descriptive findings to improve environmental health.
